Tungsten carbide drill heads

Drill heads made with tungsten carbide for oil, gas and geothermal wells, described without unpublished hardness figures.

These drill heads are made from tungsten carbide in a binder, chosen because the material is hard and resists wear in abrasive drilling. The previous website quoted Rockwell hardness, compressive strength and thermal behaviour as if they were measured company results. Those numbers are removed until a laboratory sheet is attached.

What we will say now is the duty. The head is intended for drilling where the formation would wear a softer tool quickly, including oil and gas wells and geothermal wells. The detailed geometry, the grade of carbide and the recommended operating limits belong on the datasheet. Until that file is uploaded, the product page does not show a download and does not show a numeric specification table beyond the descriptive rows below.

Drill heads

A product page, not a performance claim

Tungsten carbide drill heads are listed because Edatm is prepared to describe them. Measured wear, life or rate stays off this page until a datasheet is filed.

  • Tell us the formation and the duty.
  • Tell us the standard if one applies.
  • Ask for a quote with quantity and date.

What to compare

Ask every supplier the same three things

We will answer in those terms.

  • Description

    What the head is for.

  • Measurement

Which numbers exist, and which do not.

  • Supply

Lead time, documents and the delivery point.

Enquiry
