Fittings such as tees join the rig's mud and pressure piping. The photograph is a tee prepared for shipment.
The circulating system is not only pumps and shakers. Between them are the standpipe, the rotary hose and the fittings that turn and branch the flow. A tee, which is what the photograph shows, joins three lines. A crossover sub is a different object: a straight sub with one thread on each end, used in the drill string when two connections do not match. We quote crossovers when the enquiry gives both threads. We will not call this tee a crossover.
The order for a fitting names the service (mud, cement, choke or kill), the size, the pressure, the end preparation and the material.
